A King Penguin conducts his audience, Salisbury Plain, Bay of Isles, South Georgia, Sub-Antarctic Island. South Georgia, a protected nature reserve, teems with wildlife, it has no permanent inhabitants. Landing on the shores of Salisbury Plain, Bay of Isles, a sight of 15,000 pairs of King Penguins (Aptenodytes patagonicus) awaits you. There are 27, 000 pairs in the Bay of Isles which is one of the largest colonies. Every so often a King flaps his wings and creates a flutter among his fellow Kings.

Krafla Geothermal area, North East Iceland. Five minutes before the blizzard came in over the mountains, a crisp -10 celsius, the small grasses bent over in the wind indicating a blizzard was on its way. Krafla is an active volcano in Iceland.

Water channel, Namafjall ridge, Hverarond Geothermal field, North East Iceland, Iceland. When the ice melts, it trickles down to create a deep water channel, which cuts through the colourful sulphur deposits on Namafjall ridge in the Hverarond geothermal field in North East Iceland.

Bishop of Skalholt, Skalholt, South Iceland, Iceland. The last Catholic bishop of Iceland, Jón Arason, was executed at Skálholt in 1550, along with his two sons. The memorial stones engraved with a bishop stands at the place of the execution.

Geothermal station, Bjarnarflag, North East Iceland. Steam rises from a borehole drilled into one of the many geothermal supplies under the earth to power hot water to local communities in North East Iceland. The Bjarnarflag plant, owned by  Landsvirkjun, also produces resources as a byproduct from the geothermal resources it promduces including diamite which is used in toothpaste and fertiliser.

Leopard Seals (Hydrurga leptonyx) are one of the fiercest predators of the Antarctic. Penguins and other seals are staples of their diet. Little is known by researcher of their breeding habits as they are solitary creatures.

Argentine Cemetery, Darwin, East Falkland, Falkland Islands, South Atlantic. This cemetery on East Falkland is surrounded by a white picket fence, set in a remote area North of Stanley. The Falklands War ended in 1982, the 25th Anniversary will be commemorated in June 2007. The graves of young Argentine conscripts reflect clouds. Many young Argentine soldiers were killed during the conflict many from the cold rather than the fighting.
