Jason Friend Images is always looking to represent new, high quality travel images from Professional and Amateur Travel Photographers who have an established collection of images and are able to make regular submissions of no less than 200 tightly edited images per quarter.

We are looking for images that scream Travel. Travel photography is a diverse genre and we want our image collection to be comprehensive and unique. We are looking for travel pictures that capture the diversity of all the world's countries from the major tourist attractions to everyday scenes, from remote landscapes to the interiors of homes, from popular destinations to little known places off the beaten track. Festivals, food, flora, wildlife, transport, communications, art, architecture, portraits and landscapes are just some of the many subjects we are looking for.

Images can then be supplied either via the on-line upload system or via postal submissions supplied on DVD or CD media. Jason Friend Images was set up by a photographer for photographers and we pride ourselves on having a flexible approach to the submission of images and the imagery that we accept. We do not edit any submissions (apart from images that do not meet our quality guidelines) as we feel that our clients are in a better position to recognize an image suitable for their requirements.

This is a difficult decision which should not be made without understanding the differences between the two licenses. With Rights Managed stock photography an individual licensing agreement is negotiated for each use. The client may, however, request "exclusive" rights, preventing other customers from using the same image for a specified length of time or in the same industry. Royalty-free stock photography offers the photo buyer the ability to use an image in an unlimited number of ways for a single license fee. However, with royalty free licensing there is no option for getting exclusive usage rights.

All of our contributors receive 65% of each sale, meaning that we take 35% commission on each sale. We represent images on a non-exclusive basis although we have entered in distribution agreements with image partners overseas where we do supply some selected images on an exclusive basis. Contributors are invited to join us in these agreements via an optional account opt-in where they grant us exclusive rights for particular regions.
